Karachi vs Lahore, the two giants of PSL 2016, again came against each other in an important match. They both needed to win the match to keep their chances for knockout stages. Lahore today captained by Dwanye Bravo instead of Azhar Ali, which really gave some cheers to Lahore fans, won the toss and elected to field first. Their decision would have paid if there was no dropped chances. But when Pakistan associated cricket come then dropped catches in every match is necessity.

Lahore kept the form of dropping their chances and their count went up to 7 in this match. Karachi opened with their captain and Nauman Anwar and brought up a 50 runs stand thanks to dropped chances. Eventually the partnership was broken when Nauman was caught at long on by Umar Akmal. Karachi got some hurdles during their innings with timely strikes but again the man in form Ravi Bopara stuck an un beaten 71 runs to give Karachi a respectable score of 178 runs. Again Bopara innings was helped by some very very poor fielding by Lahore.


Along with Pakistani players the overseas players as well like Kevin Copper, Bravo and Delport dropped the catches. It was very poor from the Lahore fielders but they still managed to stop Karachi at 178 which was a very good score on the flat Sharjah Surface. Ravi Bopara show was not over after his brisk innings of 71. The best was yet to come.


In reply the Lahore Qlanadars started off well with Chris Gayle and Delport. They put of half century stand and all the fans in stands were ready for the Gayle Storm but then Ravi Bopara stole the show. First Usama Mir broke the opening partnership when he stumped Delport with well disguised googly. The Ravi Bopara came in and shut the Gayle Storm. After that Ravi Bopara was un-stoppable and picked up 6 wickets in the end and killed all the hope of chasing the target.


Lahore Qalandars ended their innings at 151. Now they are at very crucial stage as if the table stays like this they will not be able to qualify for the knockout.
